I’m short, a fact that tall people and regular length pants remind me of every day. Most of the time I buy clothes that I can get away with for the most part. But sometimes hemming is necessary, so I have mom do it for me. Like come on, really Keeks? You’re 20 years old, you can hem your own clothes now. And I can, not perfectly, but I can do it. It’s dealing with my moody sewing machine that’s the real hassle in situations like this. Needless to say, when I found iron-on hem I was a happy camper. It’s by far the easiest and quickest way to hem in my opinion.
My thrift shop find of the week was this fun, summery, Uncle Frank dress for only $4.50 (it has little pom-poms on the sleeves!). Being so short, dresses that come to the top of my knee only make me look shorter, so I wanted to move the hem up a few inches to lengthen my legs. Here’s how I did it:
